Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
(RCIA)

The RCIA is the process through which adults become members of the Catholic Church, receiving Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. Over an eight month period the inquirers (both unbaptized and those already baptized in another Christian tradition) study, reflect, share and pray about the mysteries of our Catholic Tradition, culminating in the reception of the sacraments at the Easter Vigil. The entire parish participates through prayer, hospitality and support offered for our inquirers. Particular needs in this ministry are for sponsors & hospitality.
Sponsor
A sponsor accompanies the catechumen/candidate in his/her spiritual journey. The sponsor is witness to the faith. Being a good listener is the most essential requirement, but a sponsor also commits to attend sessions and rites with the inquirers. Most often sponsors are blessed with a rejuvenation of their own faith as they offer the gift of time and support to an inquirer.
Our faith journey begins on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 7:00-8:30 PM in the Bayley Conference Room.
If you or someone you know wishes to join the Catholic Church or simply desires to learn more about the Church, please call the Parish office (697-2614) with their Name, Address and Phone Number.
